About San Luis Obispo Online

San Luis Obispo - Central Coast, Beaches, Vineyards and Charm

Local news for San Luis Obispo, California. A Times Media Service publication.

Bishop Peak up, eyes open.

We love San Luis Obispo’s oak-studded hills, coastal fog and rows of vines. We take the long way up Bishop Peak and linger over produce at the downtown farmers market. We believe news here should feel as close as the mission bells and as useful as a clear trail map. We report on the streets and hillsides you call home. We are San Luis Obispo Online.

How we started

San Luis Obispo has oak-covered hills rising above downtown, a marine layer that can remake a morning, and vineyards beyond the city streets. We started this publication for the place where a walk up Bishop Peak, a stop at the farmers market and the work of the surrounding wine country can all be part of the same day. In nearby Arroyo Grande, we find more of the farmland and coastal landscape that make this region familiar to those who call it home.

We are part of Times Media Service. We write about San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande with an eye for the details residents recognize: what is happening downtown, what is changing along the coast, and what matters in the hills and communities between them. We want you to find news that helps you feel at home in this particular stretch of California.
