How we started
San Luis Obispo has oak-covered hills rising above downtown, a marine layer that can remake a morning, and vineyards beyond the city streets. We started this publication for the place where a walk up Bishop Peak, a stop at the farmers market and the work of the surrounding wine country can all be part of the same day. In nearby Arroyo Grande, we find more of the farmland and coastal landscape that make this region familiar to those who call it home.
We are part of Times Media Service. We write about San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande with an eye for the details residents recognize: what is happening downtown, what is changing along the coast, and what matters in the hills and communities between them. We want you to find news that helps you feel at home in this particular stretch of California.

Accountable
When a fact we published is wrong, we correct the story itself and add a visible note that says what changed.
