UNION, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 25 (Nationwide Times) — A Wendy’s in Union, South Carolina, is under scrutiny after police said employees took a customer’s food from the trash, spat on it and served it back after she complained about her drive-thru order.

Union police said Aaliyah Shuntai Sanders, Trinity Lashell Rice and Shadela Crystal Holley were charged with tampering with a human drug product or food item in connection with the incident at the North Duncan Bypass restaurant.

Police said the customer’s first meal was remade after she complained. According to the police account, the food that went back to her had been taken from the trash and contaminated before it was served.

Reporting citing police said Sanders and Rice were arrested separately between June 16 and June 22. The manager told police the employees involved had been written up, and reporting said a third worker was disciplined by the restaurant.
