VICTORVILLE, Calif., July 17 (High Desert News Online) — Costco food courts at several California warehouses have started selling chicken strips, a $6.99 item that comes with five pieces and dipping sauce.

Workers reached by phone said the strips first appeared July 11 at stores in Alhambra, Los Feliz and along Rosedale Highway in Bakersfield. A Santa Rosa employee said the item arrived July 6, and a Concord worker said it had been available for a few days by July 15.

Menu signs at the stores list the order at 1,130 to 1,640 calories and show the chicken strips replacing Costco’s calzone at the locations checked.

In Victorville, the Costco warehouse at 14555 Valley Center Drive is also serving the item. The order there is listed at $6.99 and includes five breaded chicken breast strips with sauce.

The item has been described in different stores as chicken strips or chicken tenders. The full California rollout remains unclear.
