SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 27 (San Francisco News Online) — NVIDIA on June 22 introduced Halos for Robotics, a safety system for robotic and physical AI systems that it says brings AI compute, safety software, sensor data and inspection into one standardized architecture.
The company said the platform is built around NVIDIA IGX Thor for compute, Holoscan Sensor Bridge for sensor connectivity, NVIDIA Halos OS for safety software functions and the NVIDIA Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab for inspection and certification support.
NVIDIA said the architecture draws on more than 18,600 engineering years of autonomous vehicle safety work. The company framed Halos for Robotics as a way to give robotics developers a single safety stack rather than separate tools and processes.
The Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab is intended to help partners prepare for third-party certification, NVIDIA said, naming TÜV Rheinland, UL Solutions, TÜV SÜD, exida, SGS and CertX as organizations involved in that process. NVIDIA also said the lab is accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board.
NVIDIA did not say in the release when Halos for Robotics would be broadly available or what it would cost.
