SOLVANG, Calif., July 2 (Santa Ynez News) — Visitors headed to Solvang on Saturday can plan around a full day of Independence Day events, including a 9 a.m. concert, a 10 a.m. downtown parade and an evening fireworks show, according to the city’s events calendar.

The day starts with a patriotic concert by the Santa Ynez Valley Wind Ensemble at Solvang Park, 1630 Mission Drive. The 4th of July Parade follows at 10 a.m. in downtown Solvang, beginning at Mission and Alisal Road.

Solvang’s events calendar says the parade is presented by the Solvang Rotary Club and carries the theme “Salute to America 250,” a reference to the country’s upcoming 250th anniversary. The listing says the parade will include classic cars, horse troupes, dance groups, marching bands and floats from local businesses and organizations.

Later in the day, the Santa Ynez Valley Rotary Club will host the 4th of July Fireworks Festival from noon to 10 p.m. at Old Mission Santa Inés, 1760 Mission Drive. The event listing says it will include more than 20 food and merchant vendors, a children’s activity area, live entertainment and a food court with Central Coast food trucks.

The fireworks show is scheduled to begin about 9 p.m. A separate July 4 barbecue listing at Alisal River Grill, 1054 Alisal Road, shows service from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with fireworks at 9 p.m. and ticket prices of $65 for adults and $45 for children ages 4 to 12.
